What I’m Hoping to See from Harley-Davidson in 2025
It’s 2025, and I’m glad to see 2024 in the rearview mirror. Last year had its challenges, but Harley-Davidson gave us some much-needed upgrades and exciting new bikes. Still, many of us were left craving more. As we roll into 2025, I’m optimistic about what Harley-Davidson has in store for us and this incredible community.
Entry-Level Bikes: Bridging the Gap
One of the biggest hurdles for Harley-Davidson right now is the lack of an accessible, entry-level bike. The Sportster was iconic—my 2007 XL883 is proof of that. It brought countless new riders into the Harley family. With its discontinuation, we now have the Nightster and Sportster S under the "Sport" lineup. While these bikes are a blast to ride, they don’t quite capture the magic of the old air-cooled Evo motor.
Another challenge is the higher price point of the current Sport lineup, which can deter new riders. I’m hoping Harley-Davidson addresses this in 2025 by introducing a more affordable model. Perhaps the X500 could make its way to the U.S. market, providing an excellent option for new riders to join the Harley community.
Touring Lineup: Pushing Boundaries
The baggers got an impressive overhaul in 2024—they’re lighter, more agile, and perform better than ever. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sold on the new look at first, but after taking a 2024 Road Glide to Milwaukee and back, I’m completely in love.
For 2025, I don’t anticipate huge changes to the touring line, except for a few Limited models. I’d love to see the Ultra Limited and Road Glide Limited get upgrades. Rumors suggest we might get a Street Glide Ultra with the redesigned fairings, which would be exciting. As for the Road Glide Limited, it seems likely you’ll need to customize it through Harley’s package options.
I’m also crossing my fingers for a Road Glide ST model without the CVO badging. This would give performance-oriented riders a more accessible option without the premium price tag.
Softail Updates: Keeping It Fresh
The Softail lineup feels overdue for an upgrade. With the Milwaukee-Eight VVT liquid-cooled engines now powering the baggers, I’m hoping we’ll see those engines trickle down to the Softail line. This would not only boost performance but also streamline Harley’s engine offerings.
I’d also like to see ride modes and updated speedometers added to the Softails. While I don’t expect drastic design changes, some minor updates could go a long way in keeping these bikes competitive.
Pan America: A Hooligan Twist?
Harley-Davidson seems to be paying close attention to how the community is customizing the Pan America. While it’s designed for adventure riding, many enthusiasts are transforming it into a performance street bike. Harley is even using a “Hooligan Pan Am” in racing events!
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Harley release a dedicated hooligan bike based on the Pan America platform in 2025. Maybe this could even take the place of the long-awaited Bronx model we’ve yet to see.
